Greater Rochester International Airport

Project Highlights

Greater Rochester International Airport is a mid-sized regional airport serving six major airlines and five regional airlines.

The project consisted of a multilevel terminal building, two concourses with twenty-two departure/arrival gates, and infrastructure for baggage handling and airline service areas. A total of 381,462 square feet was built.

The coordination of contractors and airport personnel in an operating airport made this construction project challenging. Daily considerations regarding security, airline schedules, and public safety were required to maintain airport operations without interruption. Additionally, airport and the Federal Aviation Administration restrictions impacted the use of hoistin cranes and other equipment.

Wilmorite completed the project on schedule and $1M under budget.
