Wilmorite Construction was involved in every aspect of this design/build project. By working directly with the Tompkins Cortland Community College Foundation, Wilmorite was able to deliver a turnkey solution for the college’s immediate need of beds.
This two-phase construction project required the immediate delivery of 99 beds in an extremely aggressive schedule of only four months. After meeting every requirement of the school’s design specifications, the immediate design of a larger building that provided extreme durability with minimal maintenance and operational cost was started. The designs included single point entry systems and security vestibules, which contributed to the project exceeding the safety requirements set by the college’s Student Affairs and Security Departments.
Combined, these two phases delivered 233 student beds in 74,000 square feet of housing and community space. This consisted of a three-story and a fourstory building.
